I didnt have a lot of room in my propogator at home so I planted 8 or so sweetcorn seeds in a pot, I did 3 of them. Usually I'd do them individually in loo roll tubes. They mostly germinated and grew a lot better than I expected so when I came to planting them out this weekend I had a bit of a job seperating them. You always read how sweetcorn seedlings hate having their roots disturbed and how it can set them back ages or even finish them off, it will be interesting to see how these go. I watered them in well, and watered them well again this lunchtime as its been pretty hot here. Fingers crossed they'll be OK, I'll post the results here when I find out. I'll try and get a photo every few days - I only got a distant one when i put them out. I have now planted a load more kernels in modules just in case! Has anyone else had any definitive results either way? There is the odd story or two on line saying separating doesn't seem to harm them but the general concensus certainly seems to be the opposite.
A quick update on this - the plants i separated have all done very well. I did separate them as carefully as I could but some of them did get root damaged, but still all OK
